Personal Delta cards form a one-way ladder: you can step up to a higher-tier Delta card and earn its bonus, but holding a higher-tier card blocks bonuses on lower-tier cards. Concretely, the Blue bonus is blocked by having held Blue, Gold, Platinum, or Reserve; Gold is blocked by Gold, Platinum, or Reserve; Platinum by Platinum or Reserve; Reserve only by Reserve itself. Business Delta cards are not subject to this family rule.
